SUMMARY:Virtual Powerful Tools for Caregivers Series
DESCRIPTION:PTC is designed for family caregivers. Course curriculum focuses on the caregiver vs. the care receiver. Participants will become equipped with tools to handle stress\, reducing negative self-talk\, communicate with health care providers\, communicate in an efficient manner during difficult situations\, handle different emotions\, and making hard care giving choices. Weekly session topics include self-care behaviors\, emotion management\, self-efficacy\, and use of community resources. Meets one time per week for six weeks. Each session lasts for 2 hours. SUMMARY:Eastern Communities Resource Coalition (ECRC) Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Eastern Communities Resource Coalition (ECRC) is a group for professionals serving individuals in Bertie & Martin Counties. The purpose of this group is to promote collaboration and coordination among service providers in order to link consumers with resources while maintaining a “no wrong door approach”. \nMeetings are held the 1st Wednesday of the Month from 12:00pm—1:00pm at the Martin County Adult & Aging Services\, 201 Lee Street\, Williamston\, NC.  (No meeting in July) \nWe invite all service providers to attend who wish to connect with professionals working to maximize resources within rural communities. \nNOTE: Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic\, in-person meetings may be adjusted. SUMMARY:Virtual Chronic Disease Self-Management Program Series
DESCRIPTION:CDSMP is an effective self-management education program for people with chronic health problems. This program covers topics such as: techniques to deal with problems associated with chronic disease\, appropriate exercise\, appropriate use of medications\, communicating effectively with family\, friends\, and health professionals\, nutrition\, and\, how to evaluate new treatments. Participants will make weekly action plans\, share experiences\, and help each other solve problems they encounter in creating and carrying out their self-management program.  Meets one time per week via Zoom for six weeks. Each session lasts for 2.5 hours. In this program\, participants will receive a Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions book and relaxation CD. \n2021 Series Details: Wednesdays\, February 3rd thru March 10th; Time – 1:30pm – 4:00pm \n  \n
